SSO Not Working
If federated login (Google or Microsoft) isn't working, try these steps.
Issue: Google Login Button Missing
You're seeing: No "Sign in with Google" option on login page
Causes:
- Google login hasn't been enabled by your admin
- Browser issue
Solutions:
- Ask your admin to enable it — Go to SSO & Federated Login to set it up
- Try a different browser — Switch to Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to test
- Clear browser cache — Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac)
Issue: Google Login Redirect Loops
You're seeing: You click "Sign in with Google", authenticate, then get redirected back to login (infinite loop)
Causes:
- Browser cookies are blocked
- Third-party cookie restrictions are on
- Google account isn't recognized
Solutions:
- Allow cookies — Check browser settings to make sure cookies are enabled
- Check third-party cookies — Some browsers block third-party cookies by default. Enable them for Google and Mentora
- Try Incognito/Private mode — Open a private browser window and try again (cookies are cleared in private mode, so if this works, it's a cookie issue)
- Log out of Google first — Sign out of your Google account, then try "Sign in with Google" again
- Use a different Google account — If you have multiple Google accounts, try a different one
Issue: Microsoft Login Not Working
You're seeing: Redirect loop or authentication error when signing in with Microsoft
Causes:
- Microsoft/Azure Entra ID login hasn't been enabled
- Your organization uses a custom domain that isn't configured
Solutions:
- Ask your admin to enable Microsoft login — See SSO & Federated Login
- Use your full work email — Some organizations require the full domain (e.g.,
sarah@company.com not just sarah)
- Check your Azure Entra ID setup — If your IT department manages logins, they may need to configure something first
- Contact your IT department — If you're in a large organization, IT may need to approve Mentora's Microsoft integration
Issue: "Account not recognized" after federated login
You're seeing: You signed in with Google/Microsoft, but Mentora says "We don't recognize that account"
Causes:
- Your email on Google/Microsoft doesn't match your Mentora email
- You haven't created a Mentora account yet
Solutions:
- Check your email — Make sure the email from your Google/Microsoft account matches your Mentora email
- Create a Mentora account first — Try signing up normally (email + password) before using Google/Microsoft
- Use a different email — If you have multiple email addresses, try the other one
- Contact support — We can help link accounts
Issue: You signed in but can't see your workspace
You're seeing: You logged in successfully, but you're not in your workspace or you don't see your goals
Causes:
- You're logged in to a different workspace account
- Your account hasn't been assigned to the workspace yet
Solutions:
- Check which email you logged in with — Make sure it's the correct email for your workspace
- Ask your admin — Confirm your email has been added to the workspace
- Log out and try again — Go to Log In for logout steps
- Try creating a new account — If federated login isn't working, create an account with email + password instead
General SSO Troubleshooting
For Google:
- Go to myaccount.google.com
- Check that your email and name are correct
- Check that 2-factor authentication isn't blocking the login
For Microsoft:
- Go to myaccount.microsoft.com
- Check that your email is correct
- If your organization uses custom branding, contact IT
Still Not Working?
Contact support with:
- Which provider (Google or Microsoft)
- The error message you're seeing
- Your email address
- Whether it's a brand new account or an existing one
